Coastline Cuts was a free haircut day for the coastal community of Brgy. Dumolog, Roxas City. JCI Roxas Halaran organized it on June 20, 2026, at the Dumolog Covered Court, under its Black Sand Kings flagship for the coast. It was first set for May 27 and moved to June 20 so the setup would be ready.

The day

Stubs were handed out at 7:30 AM, and haircuts ran from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The chapter aimed for 200 cuts. By the end of the day the barbers had served 107 beneficiaries.

The barbers themselves were part of the story. Two came from the local fisherfolk community and four from the LGBT+ community of Roxas City, so the day put local skills in the spotlight as well as giving fresh cuts.

More than haircuts

  • Hot meals: the chapter's Hot Meals on Wheels served meals to everyone who sat in the chairs.
  • Think Green: all the cut hair was collected and stored as raw material for upcoming Think Green environmental projects.
  • SDGs: the chapter framed the day around community wellness and care for the coast (SDG 3 and SDG 14).

People and partners

Board member JR Dalida chaired the event. The chapter thanks Tuyo de Capiz Main and Lorna's Gourmet for their support, Metro Roxas Water District for hydration, and the Brgy. Dumolog Council and SK for hosting.

The recap timelapse used "Black Sand Kings", a track from the chapter's HALAD AUDIO LAB. Three days later, the same flagship brought Lumba-anay sa Baybay and Pinta Baruto to Baybay Beach.
