On March 2, 2024, JCI Roxas Halaran held a free anemia screening for the faculty and staff of Milibili National High School in Roxas City. The screening ran from 8:00 to 10:00 AM and was planned for 30 faculty and staff members.

Why teachers

The project was part of Mission Possible, a JCI priority program for health equity, well-being and thriving communities. The chapter's idea was that the future of young leaders rests in the hands of healthy mentors. Screening teachers and staff aimed to improve their personal health, support their work and foster a healthier environment at the school.

The chapter's hope afterwards: that teachers would be role models in caring for their health, so students can learn from them and do the same.

Partners

The screening was done in collaboration with BioFemme and Dr. Denev Alba. Dr. Alba has a long history with the chapter: another chapter post credits Dr. Alba with assisting President JP Sorongon during the revitalization of JCI Roxas Halaran.

John Paul Sorongon, the 2024 president, was the contact person for the project.

Health work since

The chapter has kept working on community health. Since then it has run blood drives such as Valor in Every Drop and men's mental health talks, and in October 2026 it held a medical outreach at BJMP San Jose with Hot Meals on Wheels.

The posts give the planned number (30). Officers are confirming how many were actually screened and what follow-up was offered.
