Kandili is a mangrove planting project in Roxas City. In its second year, JCI Roxas Halaran joined JCI Roxas Sinadya and its partners at the Culajao Mangrove Ecopark on March 28, 2025, starting at 7 AM.
Why mangroves
The project's three aims were coastal protection, climate resilience and biodiversity conservation, "one tree at a time." The chapter's message: let us keep nurturing the environment and make Capiz greener and cleaner for future generations.
The chapter's role
JCI Roxas Halaran took part as a participant and partner. The chapter thanks JCI Roxas Sinadya and all the partners who made the planting possible. The activity was part of JCI Philippines' Think Green 2025 campaign.
More planting
Mangroves have long been part of the chapter's calendar. In April 2023, the chapter opened its first JCI Week with a Think Green mangrove planting at the Bakhawan Eco-Park in Kalibo, Aklan, with JCI Aklan Kalantiao. In April 2024, it co-hosted a mangrove planting at the Palina Greenbelt Ecopark in Brgy. Cagay and gave 100 of the 400 seedlings. In 2026, members joined the Provincial Arbor Day planting of 1,000 fruit tree saplings in President Roxas.
The chapter's posts do not report how many mangroves were planted in Year 2. Officers are confirming that figure.
