On May 9, 2023, JCI Roxas Halaran distributed 74 boxes of Choco Hero powdered choco malt milk drink to daycare centers and barangay halls in Roxas City. Each box held 192 sachets of 24 grams.
Where it went
The boxes went to six barangays:
- Olotayan
- Banica
- Milibili
- Dumolog
- Baybay
- Culasi
Nutrition first
After each turnover, then-President John Paul Sorongon and EVP Jaime Altavas gave a short talk on why nutrition matters for healthy, growing children. The chapter's line for the day was "Feed our children, nourish our future." The newly inducted officers joined the team on the rounds.
Why it matters to the chapter
Choco Hero was one of the chapter's first community projects after its affiliation with JCI Philippines in March 2023. It came just after the chapter's first induction of officers, and weeks after its first Raffle for a Cause raised funds for feeding programs.
Feeding children and families has stayed central to the chapter's work. Today it runs Hot Meals on Wheels, a mobile feeding program that serves barangays, volunteers and event crowds across Roxas City and Capiz.
Help us keep feeding the next generation. Support the chapter.
